WASHINGTON – Rep. Peter Welch voted for the updated Heroes Act passed by the House late on Thursday night to deliver much needed coronavirus relief to communities across America. The updated Heroes Act was trimmed to $2.2 trillion from the more than $3 trillion bill passed in May in an attempt to engage Senate Republicans to pass a compromise aid package.
WASHINGTON – On Thursday, the House passed energy efficiency legislation that included seven key priorities of Rep. Welch to transition to a clean, reduced carbon economy. This legislation is a bipartisan attempt to lower carbon emissions and build a clean, sustainable green economy.
Rep. Peter Welch (D) applauded the inclusion of additional USCIS funding in the stopgap government funding bill (H.R. 8337) that passed the U.S. House of Representatives on Tuesday night. The additional funds, long championed by Welch and Senators Patrick Leahy (D) and Bernie Sanders (I), will prevent the furloughs of agency staff in Vermont, and across the nation.
