The Student Debt Crisis

For the first time, total debt on student loans now outpaces debt held on credit cards. In Vermont, nearly 70 percent of college graduates hold an average debt of $30,000.

And if Congress doesn't act, it's about to get worse. On July 1st, interest rates on Stafford Student Loans will double if nothing is done. Rep. Welch is working to make sure this doesn't happen.
